On behalf of the 2015 CNCCC Organizing Committee, I want to extend an open invitation to all Canadian universities to attend next year’s competition, hosted by the University of Toronto. Over the course of the next year, our organizing committee will strive to ensure the success of the competition. We will aim to provide a fair, yet competitive environment where young engineers from across Canada can come together to share and learn new ideas. I look forward to seeing you next year over the weekend of May 8th in this exciting and bustling city of Toronto!

2015 Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition
De la part du comité organisateur de la CNCCB de 2015, j’aimerais inviter toutes les universités canadiennes à participer à la compétition qui se déroulera l’année prochaine à l’Université de Toronto. Au cours de cette année, notre comité assurera le succès des compétitions. Nous avons l’intention de créer un environnement autant juste que compétitif, dans lequel les jeunes ingénieurs canadiens pourront se réunir et échanger des nouvelles idées. J’ai hâte de faire votre connaissance le week-end du 8 mai ici dans notre ville dynamique et animée qu’est Toronto.

2015 Compétition Nationale Canadienne de Canoë de Béton

The history of Concrete Canoe originated in the United States when intramural races were organized and held by ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) Student Chapters. By 1988, the ASCE, with the help of Master Builders (now BASF) expanded the competition to the National Level in the States. In and around this time, the idea of testing students’ efforts to use their engineering knowledge across a number of different disciplines became a worldwide idea, and competitions began to pop up in countries like Germany, Japan, and Australia.
The Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition (CNCCC) first started in 1994, and over the years, the competition has grown to include more than ten universities. Since 2013, the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) has become the official sponsor to the Canadian Competition.
Le Canoë de Béton provient des concours internes aux États-Unis d’Amérique organisés par la branche étudiante de l’ASCE (la Société Américaine de Génie Civil). À partir de 1988, l’ASCE, avec le soutien des « Master Builders » (maintenant, la BASF), a étendu les compétitions américaines au niveau national. Simultanément, partout dans le monde, l’idée d’évaluer les connaissances d’ingénierie des étudiants à travers plusieurs disciplines s’est développée et par conséquent des compétitions sont apparues autre part comme en Allemagne, au Japon et en Australie.
La Compétition Nationale Canadienne de Canoë de Béton (CNCCB) a commencé en 1994 et depuis compte plus de dix universités. Dès 2013, la Société Canadienne de Génie Civil (SCGC) est le sponsor officiel de la compétition canadienne.
